Established as a unified federation of trade unions, APFUTU represents the collective voice of Pakistan’s vast and diverse workforce — from industrial laborers and factory workers to government employees, service sector professionals, and daily wage earners. In a landscape where workers often face exploitation, unsafe conditions, wage theft, and the denial of basic rights, APFUTU serves as a shield, an advocate, and a platform for those who build this nation with their hands and sweat every single day.
Our Foundation and Vision
APFUTU was born from a deep-rooted belief that no worker should suffer in silence. That every laborer deserves fair wages, safe working conditions, job security, and the right to organize and be heard. Our vision is a Pakistan where labor laws are enforced without discrimination, where workers are treated with dignity and respect, and where the fruits of economic progress are shared equitably across all segments of society.
We are not merely a union federation — we are a movement. A movement that believes in the power of collective action, democratic principles, and peaceful advocacy to bring about lasting and meaningful change in the lives of Pakistan’s working class.
What We Do
Collective Bargaining & Representation — APFUTU empowers affiliated unions to negotiate fair wages, better working hours, and improved benefits on behalf of their members. We stand at the negotiating table so that workers do not stand alone.
Legal Aid & Workers’ Rights Protection — We provide legal support and guidance to workers facing wrongful termination, wage violations, discrimination, or unsafe workplace conditions. Every worker deserves justice, and APFUTU ensures they have access to it.
Policy Advocacy & Legislative Engagement — APFUTU actively engages with government bodies, parliament, and policy makers to push for progressive labor legislation, proper implementation of existing laws, and reforms that reflect the realities faced by Pakistan’s working population.
Capacity Building & Training — We conduct workshops, seminars, and training programs to educate workers about their legal rights, union leadership, workplace safety standards, and the importance of organized labor in a democratic society.
Social Welfare Initiatives — Beyond the workplace, APFUTU supports workers and their families through welfare programs, health awareness campaigns, and community development initiatives that address the broader socioeconomic challenges facing Pakistan’s labor community.
International Labor Solidarity — APFUTU maintains affiliations and partnerships with international labor organizations and federations, ensuring that Pakistan’s workers are connected to the global labor rights movement and benefit from international standards and support.
